Sunday April 17th. 2011. Sea day

Good afternoon blog followers,
.
Do not believe another word I say, first I said our call at Callao tomorrow, then I corrected that to San Martin, NOW I humbly apologize once more, for the fact is we have two more days at sea before we say "land ho" I am so relaxed which is a good thing but I don't know my head from my erm, ahh, butt.
.
At present according to Capt. Jerman's noon update  we are being hit head on with a gale force 8, the Royal "P" is handling it very well but there is some wobble and it's only 22c. I'm enjoying the ride others think I'm "nuts", of course they could be right. I may be crazy and I just might be the one that they are looking for. Hey, they should write a song about that!
.
Because of the head on wind, we've slowed down enough to change our arrival time in San Martin, we now wont arrive until the afternoon, meaning those booked to fly over the Nazca Lines wont get to do it and those going to Machu Pichu will now leave the ship from Lima, cutting the time spent there in half. There are many P'O'd Princess Pax parading past the purser's office.

I feel so bad for people such as Jennie & Peter who came all the way from Australia, mainly for the Easter Island and Nazca lines tours. Even though Princess has no control over the weather, I  hope that they will offer them some token of compensation.
.
Pax are now taking bets as to whether we'll make it into San Martin or not. Those who do not enjoy sea days! or, haven't experienced 7 sea days in a row are getting cabin fever, I've made it my job to keep them smiling, with comments like "have you heard we are going to miss the Panama canal" :)

Dorothy is up and about today, though she is keeping to a bland diet. She just purchased the last bottle of cough medicine on board, she could auction it off for a princely sum :) I've been up in the Thalassa pool bobbing about like a cork, Paul, Bruce, Cathi and I were the only ones in there making probably a bit more noise than we should have but it was great fun. Lynne was up top too though not in the pool,  we're pleased  to see her feeling better.
.
Time to go chat with uncle Charlie and tease Tatyana at the club bar, if I fall off the bar stool, those who know me will know it's not from the contents of my glass, those who don't will be busy trying not to fall off themselves.
.
I'm proud to say that I've still not used the lifts, and I feel stronger than I have in ages, I also believe that my new meds are starting to kick in as my shoulder pain has subsided to a more manageable level. I've only fallen once so far too, the cane has me feeling more confident and all in all I'm a new man, this has been a good test for me.
.
Oh dear, we lose another hour tonight leaving only one more change before we're on EDT. The seas calmed a little during cocktail hour and I don't recall much motion at dinner, mind you there were a lot of empty seats. The Orange roughy was excellent, so were the pot stickers we had as an appetizer. I wasn't hungry really but the portions were just right. I did manage to slide down some chocolate mint ice cream for dessert.
.
Well I think I'll send this on it's merry way and read for a bit…Until tomorrow then.
.
Tony
